Day 6- August 15, 2010

Hello Mobile...

And we're off! Megan and I were two of the first people to leave this morning. But as you can see in the picture we made it to MOBILE!

Megan and I had a lovely Greyhound ride from Houston to Mobile. We left the Circle Lake Retreat center around 9:30am and arrived in Mobile roughly 12 hours later. Megan and I took some killer naps, talked weddings (she's engaged), analyzed our Mobile binder Ellen and the other former Mobile JVs made us, and harassed our fellow community members via text messages.

Although they arrives hours before us they did nothing fun, per our request they sat in the dark and didn't speak to one another until we arrived. This is true community love!

We very diplomatically and maturely picked rooms by running to the room we wanted and licking the door handle to discourage others from wanting our room, some how that plan was unsuccessful. Instead we put numbers 1 -7 on a piece of paper in each room and picked a second set of numbers out of a hat. It was exciting running from room to room to see if that room was the number on your picked piece of paper.

After rooms were assigned by the fates, each room was named. I reside in the boat house. My mermaid lives happily on my door with the Oscar Wilde quote, "Be yourself! Everyone else is already taken" and soon my teal Black Rock sign will hang within the boat house displaying the lovely Fayerweather lighthouse.
