Saturday's a Rugby Day...and Sunday! The 32nd Annual Battleship Rugby Tournament at USS Alabama Memorial Park - Day 2. USA played at 9am vs. Alabama.
The second day of a tournament will always start with fewer players because of injuries from the day before. We ended up having just enough, 15 players, so I put on a jersey in case we needed a sub, which we needed at the end of the game. It was only 10 or so minutes but it was amazing to play again! I think it also helped the girls understand what I had been yelling about on the sidelines for the past 2 and 1/2 games. After the USA/Alabama game I "whored" on (played on a team I was not a member of) for FSU as they played Auburn. I had never played with any of the girls I was on that field with but there is this thing about rugby that makes all 15 people playing on that field a family. I have never seen it in any other sport and I love it! Now I'll just have to remember how to cover all my bruises in my work attire.
