Day 94- November 11, 2010

I had the day off for veterans day. I started the day preparing the things needed for my dinner, I'm making broccoli and cheddar soup. We don't have a blender or a food processor, so I cut all the broccoli by hand really really small...it took a good amount of time to cut up two pounds of broccoli. For lunch I had planned to go to L'Arche but by the time I got there they had finished eating. I talked with a few of the core members but they were all already getting ready for worship.

I walked from L'Arche to Mike and Susie's, stopping at Win Dixie to pick up some vegetable stock for my soup. Side note, vegetable stock tastes different than chicken stock. I went with Susie and the kids over to Target and The Dollar Store before heading home to finish up my soup.

John and Eleanor were premature. They were born twelve weeks early on February 8, 2005. John was born at 2 pounds and Ellie was smaller, born at 1 pound and 7 ounces. The amount of broccoli I bought for my soup weighed more than Eleanor when she was born. It is crazy to imagine. They spent 3 months in the NICU at Georgetown Hospital in Washington DC.

John and Eleanor are crazy and I love them. It is great being in Mobile with them. Here are some pictures I stole from Susie's facebook:

November is Prematurity Awareness Month

More than half a million babies are born too soon each year.
