Day 103- November 20, 2010

Habitat Saturday. Four of us were free today. It was great to get our hands dirty and see the results of our service. I have had a difficult time at work. I do someone's intake interview and then I rarely ever see or talk to them again. One client passed away a few weeks ago, I did her intake on the phone, so I never met her but I was asked to close her case. Other clients can't be helped or never show up for their appointments but I never know. When the intake interview is over they have no need to talk with the intake screener again, unless they have a problem in the future. Sometimes I need to see the results of my service and Habitat for Humanity is a great way to get the instant gratification. We helped sweep and clean up one of the houses and started putting in the flooring in another house. Megan and I are awesome at putting in flooring!

We made it home by 3:15 and the four of us were able to shower and walk across the street for 4pm mass at St. Joan of Arc. After mass they had a spaghetti dinner. We brought some corn bread in one of our new glass bowls crafted by a local artist and donated to 15 place. We were told our "northern" corn bread was "too sweet but good"...oh living in the south.

November is Prematurity Awareness Month

More than half a million babies are born too soon each year.
