On this lovely Saturday I did what any good JV would do, I went to work. On Thursday we found out we'd need to move into our new building a little bit earlier than we had planned. We were already planning to leave the 21st floor with all it's construction surrounding us, but our new space (the 7th floor across the street) will not be ready until March... in conclusion we are moving across the street to the 5th floor temporarily and finally ending on the 7th floor when it's ready.
Unlike the other LSA members I am a JV that does not get paid time and half for over time. Asking me to come in a Saturday or stay late or giving me tasks that cannot possibly be completed in a 40 hours work week but need to be is accepted because that's what JVs do. Regardless of the amount of hours I work I will get a pay check for the same amount ever single month. This isn't something just my agency does, it seems to be common with most agencies. This extra time spent in the office is awesome because I would like to take some time off in May and now I'll have time saved up!
In the office I packed up some books and cleaned up in preparation for the move. A little bit before lunch I went for a run downtown and then ate lunch with Jane at Serda's. I came home in hopes of starting my lazy weekend just a little bit later in the day (4:00 pm). Andrew and I rented Inception and The Town, but 5 minutes in Inception I fell asleep, actually I passed out. It was 6pm and I slept through all of Inception and went upstairs before The Town even started. I slept through the night until 8:45 am Sunday morning. I guess I was tired...
