Today was the L'Arche Marathon! Three of the Nola JVs came to help volunteer: Nicky, Steve, and Alex. There were several FJVs that came too. Andrew Vivian was in charge of the volunteers, which was a little bit crazy with so many groups to organize and so many different tasks. We were set up at the top of a hill at mile 16. We had an Auburn tent and music playing. We stood outside our tent and cheered. It was great to see people smile through the pain of running or to watch a person start running again once they heard our encouraging words. It was a really run and rewarding experience.
After the last runners pasted us we went to Steve's grandma's house. She lives in Mobile, just a few miles from us. She made us delicious desserts and we played Scrabble. We gave her our information and told her to call us if she ever needs anything.
It turned into a much longer day than we had planned. It was really nice to sleep at the end of this day (it was nicer than most other days).
