Day 27 - September 5, 2010

Florida Family Vacation!

Today we went to Pensacola, FL to have a day at the beach. The water was so nice!! It felt like we were swimming in a giant bath tub. The sand was great too. It is so funny that this beautiful beach, that people come to for vacation, is less than an hour away from our house. We have a tourist destination within driving distance!

We spent a few hours in the water and laying out on the beach. We decided to have our Sunday dinner at a restaurant right on the beach called Crabs.  They had 10 wings for $3.50. Dinner for 7 people ended up costing under $60, which is pretty good for a dinner at a restaurant.

Sunday we decided to take a day vacation trip to Pensacola FL.  It was great to get away from Mobile and spend the day on white sandy beaches in Florida.  It is crazy that we can go to Florida for the day and make it there in roughly an hour.  The water felt amazing and we had a great time in the gulf and swimming with baby sharks.  Now that was a crazy thing to see/do.  We decided to have dinner as a community at this place called Crabs, mom you would have loved it.  Our waitress could tell that we were not all from the area so she wanted to know where we were all from.  Megan said she was from West Virgina and Brittany, our waitress, said that she too was also.  It turns out that Brittany lived in the town next to Megan, the same town as Megan's fiance Tim.  Brittany asked who Megan’s fiance was and she said Tim Crummitt.  Small world has it Brittany went to prom with Tim’s brother.  How crazy is that?  Crazy, since it happened in Florida, about 800 miles from their home town.
