Martha is in town! Martha and I played rugby together at Catholic. She was in grad school when I joined the team my sophomore year. This picture is from almost three years ago at the 2008 Cherry Blossom tournament. Martha would encourage us on the rugby field by telling us to eat babies. She left CUA for Alabama Law School after my first season, but we had some amazing connections. Martha made me acknowledge some things I tried to ignore or avoid in my spiritual life. Martha's love and encouragement got the ball rolling in my exploration of my spirituality.Now Martha and I have been living in the same state for 193 days, yet we haven't seen each other! Tuscaloosa is not that close to Mobile and with my limited mobility and her busy 3L schedule it hasn't worked out.... but today it did! Martha is in Mobile for one of her classmates weddings and we were able to sneak in a lovely breakfast date.
This will not be the only time I see her because she has a wedding coming up in Naples, which just happens to be the location of Jeff Sozio. Jeff will of course be my date for this wedding, out of convenience and my love for Jeff. Yay for July!
