Being home was amazing. It was a necessary family visit and a great time for reflection.
Grandma will be moving out of her assisted living facility and into a full care facility. This will be good for her because she was getting nervous in her own apartment. But even with the knowledge that this will be good for her it is also difficult to acknowledge that she is getting older and losing her independence.
She doesn't have a phone in her new room yet and she won't be moved to her permanent room for another week or so. Plans are still being worked out but I really admire my dad. The love and care he shows my grandma will be returned... as long as he's nice to me :)
Thanks dad for all that you do for grandma and all the family stuff you deal with and persevere through. You're a pretty great son and an awesome dad!
